Thank you for being the rainbow announcing the thunderstorm's end,

Thank you for being the acquaintance turned to stranger turned to friend.

Thank you for shifting to enemy when I had no one else to blame,

Thank you for being responsible for the person I became.

Thank you for being the road signs, when my journey was not clear,

Thank you for saying no, when yes was what I wished to hear.

Thank you for being above me when I couldn't see that high,

Thank you for being below me when I learned i could not fly.

Thank you for being the one bandage that was able to heal my heart,

Thank you for being around me even when we were apart.

Thank you for being the clock that taught me to tell time,

Thank you for being my ladder when the wall was too steep to climb.

Thank you for being my life vest when the waters were choppy and rough,

Thank you for being a sister when a friend wasn't enough.

Thank you for being the lenses when it hurt to squint my eyes,

Thank you for forcing the truth when I grew accustomed to lies.

Thank you for knowing the things I didn't have the heart to say,

Thank you for the times you didn't leave when I said I didn't want you to stay.

Thank you for pulling me through when I thought I couldn't survive,
